• How do you define an asset?

  InsightVM is licensed for each uniquely assessed asset. An asset is considered ‘assessed’ when its vulnerability or policy assessment data is stored in the Security Console. The application uses correlation heuristics to determine whether an asset is unique based on the following factors:

  • Universally Unique Identifier(s) (UUIDs)
  • Media Access Control (MAC) address(es)
  • Hostname(s)
  • IP address(es)

  Assets identified and successfully correlated are only counted once. As a result, a single asset that has been assessed by both an agent and a credentialed scan will not be double-counted.

• Does the pricing differ depending on the type of asset?

  No. All assets are priced equally.

• Can I try before I buy?

  Of course! We offer a 30-day free trial experience for InsightVM. You can sign up here.

• How is pricing determined?

  InsightVM is priced on a per active asset basis. Unlike competitors, we price per asset, which allows for multiple IPs to be running on one asset for the same cost.

• Is there a minimum amount of assets to purchase a license for?

  We recommend investing in InsightVM for at least 512 assets.

• What if I have less than 512 assets?

  We’ll need a bit more information about you, first—get in touch with us today and we’ll talk specifics.

• What happens if I need more assets in the future?

  InsightVM easily scales with you. If you need more assets in the future, please consult your Customer Success Advisor (CSA) or Account Executive (AE) to expand your license to accommodate more assets.

• Does this pricing allow scalability?

  Yes. As the volume of assets increases, the price per asset decreases.

• Are there additional costs to implement agent-based assessment?

  Agent-based assessment is included in the flat per asset price. No surprise fees here.

• Do you have standard volume discounts? Are there discounts if I buy more than 512 assets?

  As you grow in volume, our price per asset decreases. For more details regarding discounts, reach out to us.

• What’s the time commitment for this price?

  One year.

• Are there yearly price plans?

  Licenses are valid for one year, but additional years can be purchased at the time of sale.

• What other (if any) licensing options are available?

  Currently, we only offer our license on an annual model.

• Is there non-profit pricing or discounts?

  As of now, there is no special pricing for non-profits.

• How am I billed? What payment methods do you support?

  At the time of purchase, you’ll have two options: You can either sign a quote, or create a purchase order referencing a quote number. The standard terms and conditions are net 30 days, meaning you’ll have 30 days to pay in full.

  We accept wire transfer and checks as payment methods.

• How can I get a custom quote?

  Please visit our ‘Request a Quote’ page.

• What information do I need to provide to get a custom quote?

  In order to receive a custom quote, we’ll just need to know how many active assets you are interested in licensing. If you’re also interested in training and deployment services, please let us know so we can more accurately project costs.

• Where can I find pricing outside of the U.S.?

  Pricing outside of the U.S. varies. For details about the pricing in your region, please reach out to us.

• How can I upgrade from Nexpose to InsightVM?

  The migration from an existing Nexpose license to an InsightVM license is free and can be easily coordinated by your CSM.

• Is this pricing also for one-off vulnerability scans?

  This license is for a one-year period and includes unlimited assessment for licensed assets. For one-off cases, please consider starting a free trial.

• Do you have an MSSP pricing model?

  MSSPs are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Get in touch with us today for more info.

• Is this pricing based on assets at one location? Can they spread between different locations?

  Each unique asset is tracked as it moves around your environment; there is no change in licensing as assets connect to different networks.

• Does this pricing include support? How much support will I receive?

  Yes. Rapid7 is dedicated to providing customers with the support they need. All customers have access to our Help docs that walk through the steps of specific processes. • What if I need more support?

  If more support is needed, Rapid7 offers InsightVM as a service, which we call Managed Vulnerability Management.
